Prescott Valley Town Council Voting Meeting

NEW! 5:30 p.m. - Prescott Valley Town Council Voting Meeting. Agenda item 9.A. is a Professional Services Agreement in the amount of $31,280 with WEST Consultants, Inc. to Evaluate Urban Enhanced Runoff (UER). According to the council memo, WEST has specifically been asked to analyze a concept known as Urban Enhanced Runoff (UER) which is the portion of storm water runoff that is above pre- development conditions and, therefore, potentially eligible for use to recharge local aquifers. Staff has discussed this new concept with WEST and other Town consultants, and with them begun discussions with downstream water rights holders (including Salt River Project). SRP in particular has shown interest in better understanding the Town’s approach to calculating UER. If this new technology (or other similar technology) can be proven (and UER can be acknowledged as a harvestable portion of storm water), it could allow the Town (and many other stakeholders) to make UER a viable water resource option that would benefit the aquifers in the Prescott AMA and other areas in Arizona. The hope is to prove that water that would otherwise evaporate can be stored instead of being a missed opportunity for water managers. The agenda with options for remote viewing is posted HERE:  LOCATION: Council Chambers/Library Auditorium, 7401 E. Skoog Blvd., Prescott Valley
