Should Yavapai County government do more water management? Should domestic wells be monitored? What should the Board of Supervisors do to improve groundwater management in rural Arizona? Should the Supervisors take action to protect the Verde River, the only surviving living river in Arizona?
Candidates for the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors in Districts 2 & 3 (representing the Verde Valley) will be discussing these water related questions and more.
Preregistration is required (link)
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with the meeting link.
The candidates are:
District 2: Wiley J. Cline (REP); James Gregory (REP), incumbent
District 3: Nikki Check (DEM); Lori Drake (REP); Donna Michaels (DEM), incumbent
The Forums will be available on Zoom (on line) only. Recordings of the Forums will be available for later viewing in the CWAG Video Archive shortly after the event. Preregistration is required.
The Questions and a Basic Facts document will soon be available for download. A map of the Supervisor’s districts is available now. The candidates will be provided with the questions in advance of the Forum.
CWAG is nonpartisan, but all water issues are political. The purpose of the candidate forums is to insert water policy into our political and electoral dialogue and to inform voters and candidates about water issues.
CWAG is a local citizens group advocating for a sustainable water future for the Prescott region and central Yavapai County, and for the protection of the upper Verde River. For more information, visit www.cwagaz.org, call 928-445-4218, or email
