Speakers: Kristen Johnson, Colorado River Programs Manager, AZ Dept. of Water Resources, and Vineetha Kartha, Colorado River Programs Manager, Central AZ Project. In response to the Bureau of Reclamation's Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for a new set of operating guidelines for the Colorado River following the expiration of the current 2007 Interim Guidelines, Drought Contingency Plan, and other related agreements, the Lower Basin states of Arizona, California, and Nevada submitted an alternative for analysis on March 6, 2024. Johnson and Kartha will provide an overview of the goals and parameters of that alternative and the paradigm shifts in thinking captured in the new proposal.
